Q: Apple Upgrade Program problem

Tried to order my  New iPhone 7Plus only minutes after midnight on the ninth, I used the Apple upgrade program,  I was told that there were none to be had, then I tried again still none, then I tried again and the only one that they had in the configuration that I wanted was a  Rose gold one, which I did not want this year, have my heart set on one of the two black ones.   I'm pretty bummed, since Apple said that you would be able to upgrade your phone each and every year, some of my friends that use the AT&T Next Program were able to get their phones very easily,  so basically I stayed up for nothing.   Has anyone else experienced this with the Apple upgrade program?   I did contact Apple and talk with the specialist and apparently they are trying to remedy this problem, and get us our phones, but I haven't heard anything yet, has anyone else heard from Apple and exactly how they're going to take care of this ?

You will have to wait for an answer from Apple. There are also discussions in other forums that have indicated what you have experienced, and Apple is working on it. Nothing anyone here could help you with.

Please call 1-800-MY-APPLE and talk to a iPhone upgrade program specialist. They will take down your serial number/IMEI number and other details and will call you back in 48 hrs to let you know if you can get one from your nearest apple store. Be prepared for a long wait on the call.

I just reserved 2 iPhones using the iPhone Upgrade Program website from 2 different Apple Stores for the 16th.

Both done online and both done 3 days after Apple released preordering.

I put in 2 because in case one store was out, I have a backup.  I am in Los Angeles and chose 2 stores relatively close by.

When I got the reservation, the system did not ask for credit info or an application - it just made the reservation for the phone I wanted.

The only thing I had to modify was the carrier selection since T Mobile was not available anywhere.  I chose ATT and hopefully the phones have the same GSM bands to be able to just drop my current SIM from my 6s into it ....

Yes, mainly I guess I have to patient, just wish I could have preordered, in the passed I haven't had any problems, but with the AIPU, and you'd think they would have thought out the process a little better!

Wow, that's good, but I take it you're new to the  Apple upgrade program, I signed up last year,  and I think this problem is mostly with pre-existing iPhone upgrade people

It isn't all people that have been in the program, just some. From a list earlier, it seems that if you had a replacement done, it could mess things up. I logged in and checked into my upgrade and it worked just fine. I'm going to wait a bit though.

Yes, I am new to the program.

The reservation was very simple and no credit check needed...

But it's interesting to note that on some Internet forums that people are being denied Citizen's bank credit even though their credit is good...

I will just have to bring cash and cards in case they deny me...

For existing upgrades, you should call 800 MY APPLE and speak to their specialist who will put your phone's IMEI/MEID and account info into their system and allow for you to upgrade if you are eligible.

I wonder if Citizen's Bank will do another hard pull on your credit when you upgrade ?
