Is there software available for ppc macs?
I am looking for software to run on an old laptop, a G3 Powerbook Pismo with OS 10.2.5.
I would like File Maker Pro, Mac Write, Illustrator, Iwork, or similar programs.

I think you're best bet is to look for those old programs on eBay.
actually, ebay was my first stop. i was very surprised at how limited
the selection was.
Hardcore Mac sells some older Apple software.
The minimum OS for iWork '05 is 10.3.6. Try AppleWorks instead. Per Hardcore Mac: AppleWorks 6 will run on "Mac OS 8.1 or later, including Mac OS X through 10.5.x Leopard (Some people have no trouble using AppleWorks with Mac OS X 10.6.x Snow Leopard while others have problems. If you are running Snow Leopard, purchase AppleWorks at your own risk.)" I do run AppleWorks 6.2.9 on Snow Leopard, OS X 10.6.8 but there are some features that don't quite work correctly. You can find the updaters for AppleWorks 6.2.9 on this page. Note that the updater for the US/North American English is the blue download button under the title. The links listed below are for the specific updaters for other languages. AppleWorks is not a universal language program & there are separate installers & updaters for each of 15 languages.
This is the Pages for Mac forum.
Amazon has boxed iWork '09 & '08 DVDs that run on older hardware.
All the rest go back quite a way. MacWrite is really ancient now.
As ElvisDog says see what you can find online.

Thanks for the info. Getting closer, now about those printer drivers...
running into the problem of dealing with floppy discs also.
Doesn't that PowerBook have a floppy drive?
Turn your floppies into .dmg files, don't change their names, then mount them on your desktop.
They should load in sequence when you install, so long as the software still runs on your Mac.
Also widen your search beyond eBay and Amazon. This is the Internet we are talking about.
