How do I revert to an earlier save in iMovie 10.1?

I teach computer lab at an elementary school, this year is my first time using iMovie since 2009. One of my students, instead of making his own project, deleted the work of another student's. Is there a way to revert to the original version of that project so my student didn't just lose all his hard work?
