Q: My iPad won't keep my Google account.
I need to connect to a Google calendar as well as my family calendars. My Mac, my wife's Mac, my iPhone, my wife's iPhone and my old iPad could connect to it without any problem. But I recently replaced my iPad with an iPad pro.
The Calendar app doesn't see the Google calendar. I went to Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/ and clicked on Add Account. I selected "Google", logged in and got the screen where I could switch everything off except for the calendar - for about half of a second, before the screen went back to "Add Account". The account didn't get added.
But I *did* get an e-mail from Google saying "New sign-in from iPad".
It just doesn't stick on the iPad the way it does with my other devices.
Any suggestions of what to try next?
iPad Pro, iOS 9.3.3

The automatic setup for Google may not be correct. Try selecting other, and entering a bogus address, e.g. Bob@fred.com. You'll then be able to configure all the settings manually. Be sure to configure the SMTP (sender) settings as well as the receiver.
