Q: Consistent crashes of Apple Mail for an SFR neuf e-mail account

Hello,

I'm asking this question in both the English speaking and French forums for Apple because I'm very frustrated with a problem that I haven't been able to solve.  Ever since I've installed El Capitan, one of my French SFR "neuf.fr" accounts causes Apple Mail to crash consistently.  I've tried clearing the box, diverting the mail from that address to the SFR neuf account that does work in Mail, changing the merge account from IMAP to POP, and nothing works.

Apple told me at the time of my upgrade that likely something was in the mailbox for that account that conflicts with Apple Mail, but never what it could be.  Since I cleaned the box (and it wouldn't accept the account), diverted the account to an SFR account that DID previously work, but doesn't now that it's merged, could anyone shed light on how to fix this?  I've looked everywhere to see if anyone had a similar issue, but can't find anything.

I really would like to keep this account, but if I can't find a solution I'll have to do the non tech thing and simply stop using the address/account.  It makes no sense that this account doesn't work when another account made around the same time (years ago) with SFR does work with Apple Mail.

Thanks for any help!  I'm trying to finally fix this before Sierra comes.

PS.

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), null

    Hi,

Try to rebuild your mailbox :

    1. Quit Mail
    2. Go to your Library (~Library/Mail/V2 for Yosemite and ~Library/Mail/V3 for El Capitan
    3. Go to MailData
    4. Delete or move on your desktop the 3 files started by "Envelope ..."
    5. Launch Mail - Mail will rebuild his database.

I hope this solves your problem
