subscripts and superscripts in a table of contents in 2016?

Hello everyone,

I'm working with Pages 5.2.2. My question is simple :

-How to have your table of contents respect subscripts/superscripts numbers (typically chemical formulas) from the different titles? They are OK on the titles, but in the table of contents, the subscripts disappear, and I have yet to find a way to make them appear on my TOC...

Is this bug fixed by the 5.6.2 version? (that I can't install because I'm on max OS X.9.5)

Is there any other workarounds to get it to work as it should from the start?
