iPhone 6S plus wont connect to iTunes "Invalid response".
I'm running OSX 10.7 on an older macbook 4,1, and iTunes is on 12.2 and my iPhone is on IOS 10. Every time I plug my phone into my laptop I get the message "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone “iPhone” because an invalid response was received from the device." I tried to have a friend plug his iPhone 5S into it and it said the same thing. I read online that i'm going to have to do a restore on my phone, but I cant back it up to my computer to do so. I have also tried to fully uninstall iTunes and install an earlier version, but it keeps saying I must download the updated version, it wont even let me make a backup. There is no damage or anything done to any of my USB slots or my phone port, they seem to work for everything else just fine (Docking station, other USB compatable hardware, etc.)
I really can't lose all of my information. I've tried to use other apps (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) but I just dont quite trust them, and I don't know how to get all of my things back on to my phone. If there is a way I can fully backup my phone to my computer, restore it, and then throw everything back on it, that would be great. I would really like itunes just to work like intended though. If you have any information at all on how to maybe fix this or at least work around it, PLEASE let me know asap.
