Sep 18, 2016 6:20 AM in response to tnorrisby Denmark user,I have same problem, although I discovered that my album art is only missing on the album I transferred to my iPhone 6, Now I want to transfer songs to my iPhone seven, but the album art is gone.
I did find a solution that at least works for me, but it is a real pain in the a...! in my library I have 35000 songs most bought outside iTunes or ripped from my own Cd's. I found that if I manually go to each album missing art, and then right-click and choose get album art, nothing happens. But if I then close iTunes and the reopen iTunes, the art is there and stays there. Problem now is that I have to do this about a zillion times. Hope this works for others until Apple solves this

Sep 18, 2016 6:36 AM in response to Denmark userby caffler,While album artwork is still showing in the "Get info" tab it is not showing on the artist view. And this is for stuff that I bought from Apple.
I also think that artist portrait thing is worthless..Get rid of it, Apple, or give us a choice.

Sep 18, 2016 9:24 AM in response to Ian Kelleighby Liatron,This can't be right. I have the artist artwork for bands I've never bought from iTunes, they're complete CD Rips. So that can't be it.

Sep 18, 2016 10:03 AM in response to Ian Kelleighby anderscarey7,I have artist photos for artists whom I've never bought from iTunes, so I don't think this is true. Although it seems all the ones I have bought from iTunes do have photos.

Sep 18, 2016 10:31 AM in response to tnorrisby zufbar,I have the same problem too. Artists icons not showing a photo. No way to update it or customise it either. The artist shown below, 'Allusondrugs' was purchased through iTunes so that is definitely NOT the problem. I think it is a bug.
Also here is some general feedback which I hope the designers will find useful. My last comment was deleted for some reason.
The layout shown below looks terrible (it looks like it has been formatted by a beginner Web Designer with no knowledge of CSS). I love the clean look of Apple products, but the fonts used here look heavy and ugly and do not fit with the brand. You would be better off using a lighter font.
Also the huge 3" thumbnails are too big and take up the whole screen. This makes it hard for me to browse through all my awesome music. I have a 1080p display. We don't all have retina displays - why not add a feature to allow the user to resize the thumbnails to suit them?

Sep 18, 2016 3:36 PM in response to tnorrisby el_sandokan,so there is not even a way to hide this? I dont buy my music from itunes, therefore I have to see this ugly icon?

Sep 18, 2016 7:32 PM in response to tnorrisby sirFrank,The album pictures are missing from the "Artist" view in iTunes.
Apple must like getting bombarded with complaints... do they even test this before releasing???They were always there before and now it looks stupid with a little microphone in place of the artists album covers..
It is incumbent of this company to respect the dignity of these artists and give them back there well deserved pictures... and fire who ever compiles their software and doesn't have it tested properly...
Hire some musicians as a design aid for your software Apple... you might then actually have a decent looking interface!!! -
Sep 18, 2016 11:05 PM in response to tnorrisby Chulskim,Worst. Company. Ever.
I'm seriously going to dump all of my Apple Gear (iMac 27" Retina, iPhone 6 Plus, MacBook Pro, Apple Watch) into the Pacific Ocean right now. Anyone want any of it before I dump it all, just email me at tyrol@example.com.

Sep 19, 2016 1:59 AM in response to Chulskimby MikeDavidHoward,
Hi,Boet, before you do that, consider giving it to us, don't you think it a bit too drastic ?
One thing I noticed is that people are very proud of there music library and not afraid to voice their opinions..

Sep 19, 2016 5:43 AM in response to tnorrisby johnfromnewcastle-upon-tyne,The new design is HORRIBLE! It's a total backward step from a company that I used to think forward looking.
Why remove the images from the artists? What benefit can that bring?
My job requires me to use iTunes a lot and for speed and neatness and it's more cumbersome having that revolting microphone logo.It looks so amateurish. Get it fixed!

Sep 19, 2016 7:57 AM in response to Ian Kelleighby KristenS,All of my music is directly purchased from Apple, so I don't think that is the issue. I agree with later post - this looks like a bug. They used to display an album cover if the artist photo was not available.
I would like the option to choose:
- whether I want the artist photo used or the most-recently purchased album cover
- to use the artist photo but if that's not available, use the most recently purchased album cover
I hope they fix this soon!
