Hello. I have both an Iphone 6S as well as an Ipad Pro. I downloaded and attempted to install IOS 10 on both devices - both failed. Upon attempting to install, I am getting a black screen with a white cable/Itunes icon.
After several attempts to restore I am attempted to download/install via my computer.
Any idea why each device I update is now dead?

That means you need to connect your iPhone to a computer in order to update to iOS 10.
Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
There was an issue with the over-the-air updates. Make sure itunes is updated to the latest version that was released today. Then plug your phone/iPad in. Tell them both to Update, not restore. It will take a while to download iOS 10.0.1 and install.
Are you saying all the issues everyone's talking about are related to issues w. the over-the-air update ONLY? If I update through iTunes on my MBP (late 2015) should everything be okay? Do you think it's the best way to do it? THNX!

Make sure iTunes is updated to the latest release from today 12.5.1 on your Macbook pro. Then plug in your iPhone and tell it to update. 10.0.1 will download and take a while to do so because it is a 2.23GB download. Once it is done downloading it will install and take a while. The over-the-air update issue is what's been talked about a lot on these forums.
