Q: iOS 10 Battery Drain

Although I seem to be one of the few people who have been able to update to iOS 10.0.01 over-the-air today on my iPhone 6 without my phone bricking, my battery has lost 25% of its capacity in one hour!!!  Lots of App Store updates coming through which may be the cause, but this may be a big problem yet again...

Hopefully this will be corrected, but given what I've seen posted, Apple's testing of new iOS updates appears to be seriously flawed and needs attention!!

After a major update the OS has to re-index everything, from contacts to photos, etc. It generally takes a few hours to a day to do this. Also having all of those apps update at once will do it too. Give it time and it should even out and be fine.

Just to see if it makes any difference at all, did you try closing all apps and force restarting your phone?

Press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps. Swipe left to find the app you want to close. Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

To force restart your device, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Running iOS 10 on my iPhone 6. Going on 3 days now and still experiencing major battery drain. Using safari drains >1% per minute. Same sites as I used before without anywhere near the drain. Something is definitely wrong here. Talking about browsing CNN, ESPN, etc which do not use Flash (known to drain Apple products faster). Context: after 30 min of use this morning I was at 61%. Reading articles on CNN. This has never happened in any of the prior updates. Really frustrating.

Do you have bluetooth enabled? If so try shutting that off for a little bit to see if it slows down, mine was on and draining the battery at about 10% a minute, shut off bluetooth and it stopped draining. Also try rebooting your phone as that may clear things up too.

I have tried every tip I found online, disabling almost everything I could, waited for 3 days, I restored to factory defaults and configured as a new iPhone, and still the battery is draining too fast. On my iPhone six it reports as being Safari the offending app to use all the battery.

Apple please, roll out an update for this.

Hey, it's such a quiet October after the wave of battery drain complaints here in September, also in Dutch Apple-communities... I postponed my update on my iPhone 6 as a result. Are the problems over now, can I ???

Yup same problem.  Even in airplane mode there is huge battery drains.  Apple has not addressed this yet.  I've kept update on the new releases and still having this issue.  Last time with 8 & 9 it was WiFi and it wasn't fixed until at least the 3 patch.

I am having same issue. iPhone 6- I have to recharge about 4-5 times every day! Pre iOS10 charged

once a day for same usage. I have tried several tips posted here & in online articles. So far nothing has worked. Very frustrating Apple!!!

UPDATE: So I read a few forums and found a solution.  Reset your network settings.  Go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings.  That seemed to work for me.  ***** as you loose all your WiFi but oh well.  Battery life seems to be back pre-ios 10.  Cheers

IOS 10 needs to be optimized, if the above worked for you good but that's not the solution for everybody.

Before  posting, I had already tried the Network Settings reset. It did not work for me. Still hoping for a fix from Apple or another band aid to try.
