Q: Apple Music on Windows Vista

Hi,

I want to subscribe to Apple Music etc, but the upgrade won't take effect, seemingly due to the fact that my laptop runs on Windows Vista. Surely this cannot be right? How do I subscribe to Apple Music on the Windows Vista system without being forced to invest in an expensive upgrade of my operating system?

null, Windows Vista

    Hi,

You cannot use Apple Music on Windows vista. iTunes 12.3 or newer is required for Apple Music. If you want to use Apple Music you need to upgrade your OS (computer?).

Thanks. So let me get this straight - Apple want customers to subscribe to their Apple Music service, but in order to do so those customers will have to invest in upgrading their equipment to be able to subscribe to the Apple Music service? You're suggesting that I will have to actually spend, possibly, hundreds of pounds in upgrading my OS or my laptop itself to have the honour of subscribing to Apple Music. You actually think I'm prepared to do that are you? What kind of detatched reality are Apple living in? I'll happilly subscribe at £9.99 per month, but there isn't a chance in **** that I'm going to spend my hard earned money on expensive upgrades just to do so. If money is no object to you then you're quite welcome to send me a new laptop for me to use. Let me know and I'll send you my postage address.

You are not addressing Apple here. This is a user to user support forum. As far as Vista is concerned, even Microsoft doesn't support it any longer, except for some minor extended support. Before updating any device, it is best to understand the technical requirements for that update. Vista has not been supported in iTunes since 12.1.x, and this latest update is 12.5.1.

If this is a "user support forum" then kindly provide me with an email address or some other way I can communicate with an actual decision maker at Apple please.

I think you're aksing me to post my laptop to a stranger in Norway. Am I right? Either that or you're aksing me to provide you with a postal address. I'm not quite sure which. Either way, if I've read your offer correctly, the answer is a 'thanks, but no thanks'.

You can use the Contact Us links at the bottom of the page here. There is no email address to "communicate with a decision maker at Apple". If you wish to let them know your feelings, you can use the feedback page here, http://www.apple.com/feedback and select the appropriate subject area. Apple does not reply there, but they do read all of the feedback.
