iphone can be answered even if locked..unless you put the passcode in wrong 4 times...Then it requires the pass code. Think about it, If your room mate calls your phone even though its locked, he can answer it. Then he/she will have full access to your entire phone. My question is this....Is there another way to lock out your phone without having to put the passcode in wrong 4 times?

No, they will not have full access to the device. If you have a screen lock passcode in effect, and even better, fingerprint recognition in effect, they need to know your passcode or have your fingerprint in order to gain full access beyond the ability to accept or decline a call.
shut it off. if you're not around to answer the calls what difference does it make other than someone is getting up to get your phone because it's ringing. If I were your roommate and you left your phone around for someone else to answer it that thing would be halfway to the municipal water reclamation plant after I 'droppeded' it in the terlet.
Ok, so if my phone is locked then answered they can talk but they cannot get into my messages or anything else? The reason I ask is a girl I know left her phone out on purpose to see how her boyfriend was seeing her calls and texts. He would call her phone with his and answer it. Then some how able to check her messages ? I know she locks her phone. Ok I will do some testing. Thanks everybody for your input !
Unless she made changes in settings, notifications for text messages include the content of the message and will appear on the lock screen. There is no need to unlock the phone to see the content of new messages. Tell her to turn that off.
I'm not sure what it is you are doing concerning the passcode, but actually, no, everything on your phone will NOT be available if it is answered while locked. ONLY the phone function will be available.
There is no need to purposefully lock out your phone to keep nosey neighbors out.
Calling does not unlock the phone...
I've been using iPhone since the very beginning and not once has a call unlocked the phone.
Calls are allowed to be answered by default because of the time-sensitive nature of the action.
