Q: Handwritten snippets

With iOS 10 comes the possibility to hand-write text. Now my question is about the handwritten snippets that is offered by default. In my case I had three languages configured before upgrading to iOS 10; Swedish, English and Arabic. My handwritten snippets on my phone are examples from all three languages. Now my wife she had only one language prior to the update; Swedish. She then added the a second language, but the handwritten snippets are not updated. We have now exactly the same language and keyboard configuration between my iOS devices and her iOS devices.

Any idea what can trigger that to update?

    Hi DjTaym,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I see that you had three languages configured before you upgraded to iOS 10, and now the handwritten snippets have examples from all three languages. Your wife had only one language prior to the update, but then added a second language and the snippets haven't been updated to reflect both languages. I completely understand. I use multiple languages for snippets on my iPhone as well.

I would advise to have your wife restart her iPhone, and then see if the additional language has been added to the iPhone snippets after the restart. The following article will help:

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    Have an amazing day!

    Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, we have restarted it several times without any luck, both normal restart and hard restart. The snippets are not appearing. I'll try to do a clean upgrade of iOS 10 and see if it can solve it.

Unfortunately, a factory reset and a restoration from the last backup didn't solve the issue.

Last test was to remove all addtional languages and keyboards and re-add them. Restarted the iPhone 6s and....

    No, that didn't work
