Q: iOS 10, phone bricked, backup lost...
Back in 2012, i remembered. Apple just announced their new i5, it's so new, so powerful and ofc, so cool. I was just graduated from my secondary school. At that time, I told myself: "I want one!". I started to look around for a part time job as soon as i completed my final exam. While others having fun celebrating for their graduation, I was working. In dec, it was finally arrived in my country Malaysia. I managed to purchase it online with all I earned. It was like a christmas gift for me.
Now, 4 years been past. I'm now a high school student trying to complete my degree. In my degree life, i meet patients, captured patient's data with my i5, and submit data thru mail to my lecturer at the end of the month (Yes, I'm still using it, was planning to change another once i get my first job).
Today, iOS 10 released. I'm still as excited as always, woke up in the midnight just to upgrade my phone, to see what surprises Apple once again bringing to us. But things changing this year, few features were not included in 32bit devices since iOS 9 and that makes me even more excited to see what I can get in iOS 10.
Turn on my pc (windows 10), waited for my phone to backup as I want to make sure everything is there, I can't lost anything in my phone.
1. Finally when i'm omw to iOS 10 from iOS 9.3.3 --- bricked.
2. Then I thought it was a problem of my itunes (12.0.x) --- i download the latest version, device is not recognised.
3. Then I search for a solution --- windows was unable to install your apple mobile device (recovery mode).
4. Then I was panic, I need to make sure my backup is still there so I went to %appdata% -Apple Computer- MobileSync- Backup and life happened --- "empty folder"...
5. Then I went iTunes-edit-preferences-devices --- "blank"...
6. It seems like update iTunes removed my previous backup. That instant I can feel my heart beat real hard for once, it trembled my whole body. Yes, I realized I lost all my photos, phone is brick. What else i missed? I think I might just failed a semester by trusting on 1 fully backup... now I wonder why i didn't sync my photos with dropbox (I can't do it with iCloud, I got too many photos and I trying to save my cost by using the free version and the thought of dropbox just came in my mind after I lost everything...)
Is there anyone who can help in this case? If not, bye...
