iPhone SE stuck saying connect to iTunes after trying to update to iOS 10

I've tried to update my iPhone SE to iOS 10, but after downloading and attempting to upgrade it got stuck in "Brick mode," saying I need to connect my phone to iTunes.

However, after connecting and allowing iTunes to download iOS10, it still hasn't worked.

Any suggestions? I need this fixing as soon as possible as this is my only method of communication with my other half who has recently moved away!

Make sure your computer is running the latest version of iTunes.

Mac

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose iTunes > Check for Updates.
  3. Follow the prompts to install the latest version.

Windows

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. From the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, choose Help > Check for Updates. Learn what to do if you can’t see the menu bar.
  3. Follow the prompts to install the latest version.
