my ipad has a popup that says "Icloud Backup, this Ipad hasn't been backed up in 10 weeks. backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked and connected to wifi." it wont allow me to access my ipad, I tried backing it up through my laptop with iTunes but it wont allow me because I have a password on my ipad. I tried restarting.. nothing I tried has worked.

Hold down the home and power / sleep buttons together for 10 to 15 seconds or until the Apple logo shows up.
When it does, release the buttons and restart.
It should let you into your iPad then.
No data should be lost.
