IOS 10 - Bricked and Very Slow Restore

I tried to upgrade to IOS 10 through iTunes and got an error connecting to the phone. I got the plug into I tunes even though I was plugged in for the update. I unplugged and re-pluged. I tunes restored the software and firmware and asked if I want to restore the backup I had made before the attempted upgrade to IOS 10. I clicked on restore from the latest backup and it has taken over an hour and appears to be stalled. It has said time remaining 4 minutes for over 45 minutes and no progress. What should I do???? It is an IPhone 6s Plus.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding that you've been unable to restore from your iTunes backup after updating to iOS 10. Backups store some of the most valuable information within your iPhone. I know how important it is to get that content back. I am happy to help.
Please try the steps below and test the issue after each step.

Make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes.

Connect your device to your computer with a USB cable, then select your device in iTunes. If your device doesn't appear in iTunes, you need to fix that issue before you can continue. Or, if you forgot your passcode or your device is disabled, learn what to do.

Turn off both your computer and your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Then turn them on again.

If you use a Mac, skip this step. If you use a Windows PC and iTunes won't respond or your backup never finishes, you might need to update, change, disable, or uninstall your security software.

If your iTunes backup couldn't be completed or you can't restore from a backup
