How to take a screenshot with IOS 10 ?

Agreed. I finally got it t work by pressing both buttons exactly simultaneously.

Holding the home button down brings up Siri.

Two ways

1 press home button exactly simultaneously as the exit button

2 install assistive touch through general/Accessibility/ toggle on assistive touch.

Much easier too

In my opinion there is an issue with the screen shot feature. I have an iphone 6s plus and every time I screen shot I ended up rebooting my phone. And yes I know how to screen shot. Need an update on ios asap!

Previously, you could be casual about it. You could hold down the Power button and then a half second later press and release the Home button. That way doesn't work anymore.

Now, you press and IMMEDIATELY release both the Power button and Home button SIMULTANEOUSLY. You can't hold down either button for any amount of time.

I have just updated to IOS 10 on iphone 6s plus and i have just noticed that i am unable to take a screenshot as i used to with the home button and the power button.

This is annoying. Earlier posts suggested simultaneous (exactly!) pressing of Home button and Sleep Button. But it did not work for me all the time. Now I am using the Home (Assistive touch) -> Device -> more-> Screenshot. It works all the time. At least until Apple introduces a time delay cushion for the "simultaneous" touches!

mine just started working after trying a number of times. i did nothing special and it started working.

I was having the same issue. I have an iPhone 6 & I had tried shutting it off and it still did not work. Finally, I had to do a "hard reset" (where you hold the OFF and HOME buttons until it shuts off and don't let go until it comes back on again) and that did the trick! Now it works just like it always did!!

Incorrect Dendesm. It does work as before. Just a little harder to do on the iPhone 7 because of the new home button IME.

I have seen that it had worked for some and not for some. I think it is too dependent on one's reflex speeds and needs to be addressed to by Apple. In my case, it worked only once from about 20 attempts!!

One other thing to try:
Settings->General->Accessibility->Home Button

and then change the "Click Speed" from "Default" to either "Slow" (which I use because it helps with unlocking the phone without starting Siri) or perhaps even "Slowest" if that works better
