I own a 3rd generation Apple TV and want to purchase a new 4th generation Apple TV. Are the connecting cables identical for both products?
They both use HDMI to connect to the TV so that would be the same yes.
Beyond that, you would need to explain what other connections you may be referring to.
Thanks for your response. Are you saying the HDMI cable that I am using to connect my old Apple TV won't work with the 4th generation AppleTV?
Is the HDMI cable for the 4th generation identical to the 3rd generation . I have a fairly elaborate SmartHub connector and can easier unplug the cables for the old Apple TV and plug in the new cables for the new Apple TV . If the cables are different, than I'm not sure what I shold do----Thanks for your response
The HDMI cable from your 3rd gen should work just fine on the 4th generation Apple Tv.
