Q: Two-page view not working correctly in iOS 10

I upgraded my iPad Air 2 to iOS 10 tonight, then went to continue reading a book I bought recently via iBooks.  The two-page view, when the iPad is in landscape mode, will not appear now - unless I make the font really small.  If I increase the font size while in landscape to something more readable, I only get a single page view.

I deleted and re-downloaded the book, but the behavior is the same.  I signed into iBooks on another iPad that's running ios 9.3.5, and the two-page view works correctly, with normal font sizes - sizes that will not let me view the same book in two-page mode on iOS 10.

Apple - help!  I really prefer reading with two-page landscape mode in iBooks.  I can't, however, seem to get this to work with anything but tiny fonts.

Has has anyone else noticed this?

Yes, reducing the font size to minuscule does the trick. But OMG. This new anti-feature makes me so (surprisingly) angry! ***** the joy out of reading with iBook. If iBook is still this way by the time I finish reading it, the current book I'm on will be the last I ever buy through iTunes/iBook. Can't imagine why they would go to such the trouble to actually downgrade theie users' reading experience. Shame on you Apple. You're supposed to better than this.

Hi. As stated by another forum member, I have managed to get it into two page view by changing the font. I changed it to Palatino, without touching the font size and it worked. I think if you have fiddled with the font size you will need to quit out of iBooks and then open it again, don't touch anything and then change the font only. Hope it works for you. Apple needs a good boot up the proverbial for touching this.

    Best Regards

    Steve

Thanks for bringing this up.  I have the same problem, and getting the font small enough for two columns makes it too small for me to read.  Unfortunately, my fix is to buy my books on Amazon and use the Kindle app on my iPad.  I left a message on Apple support, so hopefully they'll fix this.
