I am having problems with an App called Installer running in the background and using 6-8 GB of RAM at random times on my MacBook Pro

Basically, at seemingly random times on my 2013 Macbook Pro, I find the computer lags. I check Activity Monitor to find that a process called "Installer" is running and consuming 6-8 GB of RAM and causing the lags. Is this a problem with the operating system (OSX Capitan)? Bad app?

Bring Installer to the foreground (click on its Icon in the Dock, or command-tab until you get to it) and see what it is installing. If you do not know what it is installing DO NOT enter your Admin password, because it is about to install Malware.
