Q: Arabic numbers on iOS
Hello,
First, I didn’t find the correct place to send my feedback. Please send it to the correct team if you were not concerned with this issue.
I am Arabic person & for sure use the Arabic keyboard.
The strange thing that I noticed & expected Apple to correct for long time is (Arabic numbers).
If you search real sites who discuss this issue, you will find that the numbers you are using in the Arabic keyboard is actually Indian (Hindu) numbers or like they call them (Hindu-Arabic numbers).
In fact, the real Arabic numbers are the once used with the English keyboard and known as English numbers.
The funny part here that I checked the Hindi keyboard & found you using the English numbers.
A big problem we “Arab people” face that when someone send me a phone number in Hindu style, I cannot just copy & paste to call because your devices do not recognize them. I have first to convert them to Arabic “English” numbers then use them.
Finally, I would like to say that out of my experience I believe that most people using Arabic keyboard would love to see the numbers changed specially that most of us really using the real Arabic numbers.
Please tell me if you can change that or at least make it as an option for the user to choose.
Waiting for your reply ASAP please.
Best wishes,
