Memories Selecting Random Photos

Has anyone else had an issue with Memories selecting weird groups of photos that don't make sense or anything of the like?

I have whole series of vacation photos from various places ignored, but it randomly picks out selfies and random single photos from random times (i.e. I have one Memory that has a picture from 2015, then earlier this year, then last month in it). Is there any way to make it more accurate, or better yet build my own Memory, since the AI seems to be having a little difficulty on its own?

So the pictures gathered together in each Memory have some sort of relationship as determined by the app, thus putting them all together into one memory collection.

Using what criteria? Because the "memories" it has created for me are nonsense - a "2 month" period with photos dated up to 4 years ago; "city location" photos from different counties - and on and on.

It's useless and annoying. First - how can the whole "memories" thing be deleted? It hasn't worked on my last 2 iPhones or iPads and I don't want it. Why should I have some weird "organizational" function that doesn't work?

If it can't be deleted - which, unfortunately, would be typical for Apple, like old, unused Apple ID's can't be deleted for no logical reason - how can it be tweaked to make it work properly?

If the function flat does not work in any sensible way there HAS to be some way of dealing with it - other than "just don't pay attention to it".

Hi Officer Bonasera,

From what you are describing, it seems as if your Photos app on your iPhone 6s running iOS 10 is creating Memories that does not make any sense to you. I totally understand where you are coming from, however,

Photos automatically scans your library for meaningful people, places, holidays, and more, and presents them in curated collections called Memories. Day after day, you’ll find new Memories ready for you to enjoy. You can also create your own Memories, view Memories as slideshows or as automatically-edited movies, and share them with friends and family.

So the pictures gathered together in each Memory have some sort of relationship as determined by the app, thus putting them all together into one memory collection. Additionally, you are free to create your own memories!
Create your own Memories

Photos automatically creates Memories—but you're the best curator of your photos and the stories behind them. So you can make a Memory from any Moment, Collection, Year, or Album in your photo library.
On your Mac, open an Album and click Show as Memory in the header. If you're in the Photos tab, click the title of a group of photos to open them as a Memory.
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, tap on the header of any Moment, Collection, Year, or Album. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Add to Memories.
You can find great information on your Photos' Memory features in this link. Enjoy your Memories in Photos
