Does iOS 10 on iPod touch 6th gen perform well?

I just wana check before I update, that iOS 10 won't be like, say iOS 8 and 9 were for my iPod touch 5th gen - i.e. devastatingly memory hungry within a device that has only 512MB RAM vs the 1GB most other iOS devices had at the time.

Sure my iPod touch 5th gen still works, but only with apps that can fit within the tiny amount of RAM left after iOS 9 has used most of it. The heftier apps that used to run okay in iOS 6 and 7, now crash within a few minutes or won't even successfully launch.

Since my iPod touch 6th gen only has 1GB RAM vs the 2GB most other iOS devices now have, it feels like it might be dangerous territory again.

TIA :-)

Thanks for the feedback :-)

I tried calling Apple support, but the two people I spoke too didn't even have an iPod touch 6th gen handy. So no help there, and all they could say was 'iOS 10 is supported'. Well, yeah. So was iOS 8 and 9 on the 5th gen, and look how detrimental they were to free RAM and performance.

I'd hate, just hate to knobble my 6th gen the way I did with my 5th gen. My 5th gen is now used as my alarm clock in my bedroom, it's become so slow and crashy with any complex apps. I don't need another $500 alarm clock, eh? ;-)
