Watch OS 3: scroll emoticons is VERY slow ad unusable

The following steps may help:

Restart both your iPhone and your watch:

• Close all open apps on your iPhone:
  • Double-click the Home button, then swipe up on each app preview to close it.
• Turn both devices off together, then restart your iPhone first;
  • Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
  • Restart your Apple Watch - Apple Support

If the issue persists, next try unpairing and re-pairing your watch:

• The Watch app on your iPhone takes a backup of your watch automatically when unpairing via the app. Choose to Restore from Backup during set up. Most data and settings will be restored, with some exceptions (eg Apple Pay cards, passcode).
• Unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone - Apple Support
• Set up your Apple Watch - Apple Support

I have the same problem. I tried the process of Oversim'a reply, but it worked only temporarily, I have the same problem yet. Can somebody hepl me?

Although I did it a bit differently as I didn't want to loose all settings via 'reset all settings'.

Here is how I did it:

• Reset keyboard dictionary in iPhone settings
• Reboot the iPhone
• Unpair Apple Watch
• Pair Apple Watch again and restore from backup

I've had the same problem with my new apple watch series 2.

I talked to 3 different guys at apple care and the last one solved the problem pretty easy.

My apple watch was set to "german". I was told to set it to english and then it worked. Even after setting back to german the problem did not longer exist. It works 3 days from now with no relapse.

Next thing you can try - if this did not last - is to delete downloaded stickers for iMessage.

But like I said switching language back and forth solved it for me. Thanks to M. Schmidt @ apple! :-)

Setting to different language also did the trick for me
