Q: Computer unresponsive after going to sleep

This saga is killing me.  Came home from a biz trip to a dead hd (Samsung Evo SSD)...very strange.  Brought it in and Apple replaced the drive to one of their 1tb ssd.

Came back home and using my time machine backup recovered my computer...took 13hrs?!?!  (is that normal??)

Had a hard time getting my 27" monitor to show.  The peripherals plugged in to it would show in finder but no image.  After smc resets and such finally got that to work.

Time machine was basically timing out so been trying to trouble shoot that.  Figured I'd delete some old backups from the external hd.  Except it's taking hours and hours to delete.  Then....

....when the monitor eventually goes to sleep...it doesnt come back to life.  I have to hard reset.

What gives??

Appreciate the thoughts.
