Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
We know that heat from a device can raise some questions, but hopefully we can explain the situation and provide some guidance for you.
It is expected behavior for your iPhone to warm in some circumstances. Read over the information in the following article:
Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable operating temperatures - Apple Support
When using the device or charging the battery, it is normal for it to get warm. The exterior of the device functions as a cooling surface that transfers heat from inside the device to the cooler air outside.
Have you experienced any temperature warnings on your iPhone or any other expected behavior related to heat? We're here to help!
Have a great day
