Q: iOS 10: No 'new email' sound when checking mails

hi!

iOS10 upgrade when fine on both my iPhone (6) and iPad Pro (9.7)

Nevertheless, when Mail has finished collecting my new mails (my option is manual check), I don't get the 'new email' sound.

Once I send a mail, I do hear the swoosh sound and then any subsequent manual check of new mails does give me the 'new email' sound. Swiping to the bottom to force the manual check doesn't give any sound. But I'm not certain anymore whether this was the case in previous versions.

The problem re-occurs whenever I close Mail from running in the background.

Anyone else with this 'sound issue'?

I have not seen the problem. It appears to be working fine for me. Have you tried restarting or force restarting your phone?

You you can also try resetting all settings in Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings but when you do that, you have to enter all device settings again including WiFi network passwords.

This doesn't help your situation, but I updated my iPad and my iPhone to iOS 10.0.1 yesterday and the sound from my keyboard clicks is barely audible on both devices. It is better on the phone, but not nearly as loud as it should be on either device.

I sent feedback to Apple as was recommended to me, but I'm not sure what to do to fix it.
