Q: hierachy charts

Can you create hierachy charts in pages?  I need to do one to present the page structure of a website.

    You can construct a hierarchy chart using rectangles and line segments from Shape in the Toolbar. Each shape that you insert, must be followed by a trip to the Arrange menu, where you set Text wrap to None. This allows your shapes to be positioned close to one another without automatic dispersal.

     

    Microsoft Word on the other hand, can do this more efficiently, or you can take a closer look at the free, online draw dot io site which has a ton of templates to use for hierarchy charts. You can then export your work in many different formats.

     

    Here is an example that I made using draw dot io tools:

    You mean Hierarchy/Flow Charts.

     

    You select 2 objects and Connect the two with lines. The lines stick with the objects  and can be pulled into place and curved. Frankly it is less than ideal, particularly in Pages 5 where the joins are not smooth. Word/LibreOffice [free] have much better FlowCharting where you can set up styled multi-element FlowCharts in one go and even modify the design as a whole with Styles.
