Anyone else having issues with the special features of imessage with the iOS 10 update? I can't receive the special effects like confetti or balloons if sent, and I can't send texts with effects like invisible ink and LOUD etc. I have tested with a friend who also has updated to the new imessage and his works fine.

Never mind, I figured it out. If this happens to you, check your accessibility settings, under general. you may have reduce motion turned on. if you want these effects, you need to turn reduce motion off, and it will work perfectly!

Reduce motion is disabled on my phone and I am still having an issue not seeing special effects sent to me. I can see them if I send them.

I had trouble with message effects. I have an iphone 6 plus. I tried all the suggestions but none worked. What I finally tried that worked was to tap the default arrow icon to the left of the message (or slide it to the right to expose the camera, heart finger, and A icons) and then tap the heart fingers image. I have to then turn my iphone vertical (not sure if all iphones can go landscape in imessage, but that is how I use mine) and THEN tap and hold the blue send arrow to the right of the message. It then shows the menu screen for the send with effect. Really kind of screwy seeing as how it is not intuitive and doesn't 'just work'.....
I also have the iPhone 6s Plus and your recommendations don't work for me either. It must be a glitch with our version? Hope they fix it soon. The new additions look fun .
This is also the only thing that seemed to "fix" mine...so I guess now I will have to turn it sideways every time?
