Q: Recover Bootcamp Partition

After resizing my bootcamp partition it was damaged and listed as disk0s4. After following these discussions I was able to somewhat repair it, as BOOTCAMP is once again accessible by finder and is now listed as an option to boot from. However when I try to boot windows, I get an error code 0xc00000e even though I have the windows 7 CD something is preventing me from repairing.

I have grown tired of trying to fix this and have decided to nuke and pave. My question is, can I salvage my BOOTCAMP files that are accessible through finder and how do I do so?

ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5), BOOTCAMP

I see what you trying to do here.

I had this problem just that it was not damage just some glitch or something it went good after reinstalling.

what kind of Macbook do you use?

cause what you are getting sounds like missing registry files is what 0xc00000e usually means.

but it can also be something else.

and what this leads to is a total reinstalling of windows A.K.A Bootcamp.

if this problem still going on after that then it mate be more then just a Registry problem or BootMGR.

corruption on the Windows image one you have on the CD for installing windows.

or if what I noticed and meany other has, is the new version of Mac OS X EL Captian

it can only allow Windows 8 and upgrade from there to Windows 10.

Windows 7 is not an option to install on mac anymore sense Mavericks version of MAC OS.

    I'm running OS X 10.8.5 on a mid 2013 Macbook Pro.

I find it strange that even though I have the recovery CD for windows 7 I still can't get the disk repair to work.

I have decided that reinstalling BOOTCAMP would be best. But if I can recover my user files it would save me a lot of time.

it's hard to recover files when system can't boot up. but if it was enabled in iCloud, google driver, one drive etc when you would be fine by the file recovery. I hope you get better when you reinstall the system OS Good luck!

You can extract files from the Documents and other Windows folders if the Bootcamp volume is mounted in OS X Finder.

If you use Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support to build a USB Installer for a 2013 MBP, and both from it, you can repair your BCD. The error code implies a corrupted BCD.

A big thank you to you Loner, I followed many of your instructions in former threads to get bootcamp running again.

Update:     I did exactly that, using a bootable USB drive and have got windows booting again. I'm in the process of upgrading windows 7 as I fear it is still riddled with errors.

I have learned the valuable lesson of never again using disk utility to resize my bootcamp partition.

Excellent. Please back up OS X, Windows and create a Windows System Restore point.
