Q: iPad screen black behind folder when opening it

SSince iOS 10 upgrade, rather than seeing the "fuzzy" version of the home screen wallpaper behind a folder of apps as it opens the screen goes black in the background. Not a big problem, but inconsistent with previous action and how iPhone behaves with ios10

iPad 2, iOS 10

    Hi David_D49,

I see that you have updated to iOS 10, and you have a question about a change you have noticed on your device since updating. The behavior you are seeing could be due to an Accessibility setting called Reduce Motion. You can find more information about it here:

Reduce screen motion - iPad User Guide

Try turning this feature off, and see if your device reacts more in line with your expectations after this change. Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities, and feel free to reach out with any further questions you have.

Thanks for the suggestion - I looked at that setting and it was already off.  Just to be sure I tried turning it on, checking what happene, and turning it off again. Nothing changed, I'm still getting the black background.

Managed to fix this myself. I updated today my wife's identical iPad and there was no problem. The answer was to do a reset on mine. Annoying because so much stuff then had to be reset!
