Disable iCloud music library on iOS10?

I don't like to keep music on my phone and after updating to iOS10 purchased music is now showing up on my phone (not downloaded but still automatically plays when connects to my car's bluetooth... streaming over my cellular data connecting I'm assuming). I've gone to settings > music > and looked to toggle off iCloud Music Library... no such setting. I've looked all around the music app for some setting to show downloaded music only but can't find any such setting. The only way it goes away is in settings > iTunes & app store > logging out... but then I'm not logged into the app store anymore. Does anyone know how I can get rid of all this cloud based music I don't want on my phone!??!

After looking through the comments I have finally figured this problem out. What you can do is hold down the album or song that you chose in the music app and gives you multiple options to choose from and you can simply choose the delete from library then click yes when it says about it being able to be downloaded again and it will be deleted from the phone. 🙂

I've been trying to find out for months what has been eating at my data and last month I erased ALL the music on my phone. I drive a lot but mostly listen to the radio, I busted my data plan by 5gigs this month! I'm really dissapointed with apple on this one. Everything in data is dissabled for icloud and music but I dont have the option in settings to "dissable icloud library". Can we get a fix please?

Et tu, Apple? No, I'm not going to subscribe to Apple Music, and I don't want to use data when I drive to listen to music that I thought I had synced from my computer. I've started to only choose "downloaded music," but what drives me crazy is that this circumvents my ability to use playlists. And when syncing only some of the songs on the playlists I'm trying to sync end up downloaded on my phone.

The cloud isn't the end all and be all that Apple (and many others) think it is, and if you're happy using hard-wired syncing for some (or all) purposes than why should Apple care? Oh yeah, they're trying to sell more subscriptions to Apple Music.

Apple, please restore the ability to sync and download the songs we want to, organized the way we want them organized.
