iOS10 Notifications not working

I just updated to iOS10 today and now suddenly my notifications for texts are not coming through. Previously, my text messages would cause my phone to vibrate and light up the home screen, where I could read the message. Now, I am not getting a vibration notifcation, nor is my screen lighting up. None of my settings have changed. Can anyone help?

Hello malandata,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding since updating to iOS 10, you're no longer getting Message notifications on your iPhone. I don''t go one day without messaging. I know how important it is to get properly notified of new messages. I am happy to help get this resolved with you.
Since you've confirmed your settings, I recommend restarting your iPhone. This can resolve many unexpected behaviors. Use the steps below if needed.

  1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
  3. After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If the issue persists the next option would be to Reset All Settings. This takes all settings back to default, including Wi-Fi networks and passwords, alerts, notifications, brightness, wallpaper, and sounds. This will also remove Apple Pay cards. Even though not content is lost with this step, it's a good idea to back up first. If you don't have a recent backup, use the link below.
How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Once you've successfully backed up, Reset All Settings in Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
Have a great day!

Thank you for following up the your results. At this point the next step would be to restore your iPhone with iTunes. This will allow iTunes to remove all content and reinstall the software. We know iPhones can contain plenty of valuable information, so it's very important to back up first. Please use the steps in the link below to back up and restore.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings.

If the issue persists please use the following link to contact Apple Support.

I just purchased the Iphone 7 and have had nothing but issues since with ANY of my notifications. I DO NOT get any of them from any apps. I have tried restoring, resetting, etc. It shouldn't be this difficult let alone I see that SO many others are having the same problem. Its bad enough I lost every single ring tone that I had on my 6s and can not get any of them on this one, but I shouldnt have to check my phone every few minutes just to see what I am not getting!!!! Please fix this ASAP, I have been a happy Iphone user and am quickly becoming a very unhappy one. 😟
