iOS10 music app cannot access playlists in playlist folders

I am trying to work around the missing 5-star track ratings in iOS10 by using playlists temporarily. The idea being that I add a track to a playlist titled "To Rate 4" for instance and later at home I can rate all those tracks 4-stars in iTunes. It's a bit of a hack but should work.

I come across a bug (a design feature?) in the music app though. I put is a bug ticket at www.apple.com\feedback regarding this. I suggest you do as well. Below is my comment:

In iOS10 Music app, when in playlists the app is able to access a playlist that is nested within a playlist folder. However, when playing music, if you select the ... to then select Add to a Playlist, the playlist selection will not include any playlists that are in playlist folders. Only those (non smart) playlists in the route folder are selectable.

This is clearly a bug. There needs to be the ability to select nested playlists.

Also, in addition to this, there should be the ability to create a playlist folder and to move playlists to folders (or out of them) when in the edit playlist screen.

I am having this same issue. I called apple support and the only suggestion they had was in iTunes on computer to take the playlists out of the folders and sync iPhone to computer and then the playlists will show up, not in the folders.

This is not the kind of suggestion that I want because it may have allowed the playlists to show up, but I still want to have them organized in the folders on my iPhone.

It was very frustrating that they did not have any other options.

If anyone else has GOOD and useful suggestions, please let me know.

CONFIRMED!

I am having the same issue! I cannot add a song to a playlist that is located in a folder of playlists. You can only see the playlists that are in the root directory. I definitely do not agree with their suggestion to remove the playlists from the folders and place them in the root directory. I categorize my music too much to do so.
