Q: Zoom Thunderbolt TAC-2 and Logic X
Want to explain what seems like a fairly complex problem as simply as possible. I went from using a Focusrite Sapphire Pro with Logic X and my Mac Pro for recording. Never had a problem. Swapped the Focusrite with a Zoom Thunderbolt TAC-2 - and here's where the issues begin. When recording, for some reason the channel sliders and mute button in Logic no longer control volume when recording. For example: create a new analog vocal track. Test mic. Channel WILL NOT mute, and will not reduce volume - the slider and mute button have no power over the track whatsoever. It looks like I have to control all of that either at the Zoom unit or at the proprietary software that came with the Zoom. This is a huge frustration for me - when using the Focusrite I could control volume either at the unit or at the Logic X track slider. What gives?
