iPad Pro Not working with prepaid sim

New iPad Pro (9.7") will not connect to Internet when using a prepaid SIM card. Is this a problem with the "pro" or have I missed something.

Congrats on your shiny new iPad Pro! It sounds like you are having difficulties connecting your iPad Pro to the internet while using a prepaid SIM. If the issue is solely when attempting to use Cellular data provided by your network carrier, try using the steps in the links below for assistance.


Set up cellular data service on your Wi-Fi + Cellular model iPad​

If you can‘t connect to a cellular network or cellular data
