Can't access wallet after upgrading to iOS 10

I haven't seen this pop up on any other forums yet, but my iPhone 6S Plus does not register double tapping on my lock screen after I've upgraded to iOS 10.

I went into the Wallet and Apple Pay settings, and made sure that allow access when locked is turned on. Anyone else experiencing this?

I've spent some time today reasearching different websites trying to solve this issue. I have found a solution for iPhone 7's and iOS 10.2. I have "raise-to-wake" enabled, default home button speed, and "no-touch unlock" disabled:

I deleted my card, then re-added it. Wallet said "this card is already on file," leading me to "end" the application (double tapping the home button and swiping up). Then, I double checked the wallet app, say my card installed, and then locked my screen.

When the screen was in locked mode:User uploaded file

Then, I was prompted with this:User uploaded file

Hope this helps

Cheers

Double click on the Home button from sleep only works if you have a credit card loaded. When you update software I believe you have to re enter credit cards, so the double click action will be disabled until you do so after an upgrade.

This is particularly annoying if you only use wallet for boarding passes, Starbucks, movie tickets and the like. You are required to add a credit card even if you don't use it to get the double click function to work.

My credit card is from a smaller bank not supported by Apple so I am stuck. The settings toggle for the double click action (which curiously is available to two places in settings - Wallet and Wallet & Apple Pay) does not say you must have a credit card added to activate the feature.

Apple: please allow double click Wallet access from the home screen without requiring a credit card. Many of us find wallet extremely useful without a card.

Thanks.

Touch being mandatory sounds bunk. I can't imagine that I'm the only one not on the Touch ID bandwagon. An equally bunk workaround I've found is to ask Siri for Apple pay. Then the passcode menu comes up like before. I know, a pita but at least I don't have to do Touch ID. Hopefully the developers fix this soon, Apple Pay was the primary reason for my iPhone upgrade.... So annoyed that it doesn't work as it should.

I just figured this out because I was wondering the same thing...

anywho, it is still possible to access wallet from lock screen by double pressing home key - but that was a hit or miss for me so...

i figured out if you turn on the screen from that button on the right (forgive me, idk what it's called haha) and then double press like before it works.

hope that helps.

To the best of my knowledge, Touch ID is not mandatory for iOS 10. You can still use passcode for Apple Pay and it works without any problems. Also, there is an option in Wallet & Apple Pay settings to enable or disable double-click home button and allow access to Wallet and Apple Pay from the lock screen. Given these, the fact that things are not working as they should is most likely an indication of a glitch on Apple's end that will, hopefully, get fixed with an iOS update.

I Always loved the Wallet system but if it stops working on iOS updates then it becomes useless. I hope Apple sees this as a real problem as well as a major issue for Apple Pay users. It must be 100% or there is no need for it. If you can not depend on it working all the time everytime then it becomes an unreliable Wallet and payment system aka useless
