Q: Apple TV with tvOS 10 won't find my Philips Hue lights

I've recently updated my Apple TV to tvOS 10 and one of the new features is Siri controlling you homekit enabled devices. I have Philips Hue bridge 2 and Siri voice control works great from my iPhone but Siri on Apple TV only replies that I don't have any units connected. Where do I "connect" my lights?

Time Capsule, Mac OS X (10.7)

    Hello balazsfromlund,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I see that you are wanting to use Home app on your Apple TV to control your lights.

You will first need to sign in to your iCloud account on your iOS 10 device (not your Apple TV) and configure the Home app with your HomeKit accessories. Once that has been done, then you can use your iCloud account to set up your Apple TV as a home hub and control your HomeKit accessories using Siri on your Apple TV.

You can use the steps in Use the Home app on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch to make sure everything is set up correctly.

    Best regards.

Thanks, but those things were all ready set up. What I didn't know is that you need to activate two-factor authentication for my iCloud. That solved the problem and Siri on Apple TV can now control my HomeKit devices

For anyone else having this problem, if you try setting up 2FA on iCloud, do that first before you change or update anything else in your profile. I updated an old shipping address and Apple has some precaution that prevents you from enabling 2FA for 3 days after a profile/account detail change.

The AppleTV as Homekit hub is probably the worst/most opaque software experiences ever.
