Q: MacBook won't shutdown (or restart) from menu

I have got a:

and when I try to restart my MacBook like this ("herstarten" = restart):

Mac closes all open applications, but does not restart (or shutdown). Tried it many times.

Shutdown en restart by using the power-button works fine. Only the restart from the apple-menu doesn't work.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hi TulipanoRosso,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

We understand that your Mac is having an issue restarting and shutting down from the menu as expected. We’re here to help!

The first thing we would like you to check for are any apps that aren’t responding. You can do this by opening the Force Quit menu. If you do see any unresponsive apps, you can force those apps to quit and try the shut down or restart again.

Force an app to close on your Mac - Apple Support

If the issue continues, we would like you to manually power down your MacBook Pro by holding down the Power button just as you have done before. After the computer is powered off, start it in safe mode.

OS X El Capitan: Start up in safe mode

Safe mode takes a little longer to complete startup, but after your computer finishes starting up, go ahead and restart your Mac from the menu again; this will leave safe mode.

    Have a great day
