was wondering how to fix the problem of dramatic battery depletion post installing iOS 10.0.1? Have called support and they don't know how to fix it. Essentially battery drains from 100% to under 20% in under an hour and this started happening after installing 10.0.1

It may be a 3rd party app that is not yet compatible with iOS 10. Have you checked your battery usage to see which app is eating up your battery? Settings > Battery
Thanks for your tip. Yes have checked battery usage and it is mainly from Home and Lock Screen, for highest consumptoon. Prior to 10.0.1, this was never the case
What is the percentage for the Home & Lock Screen?
Have you tried turning location services off and back on? Turning the phone off and back on? Resetting the Network Settings? Forced Restart?
Try doing a restore with iPhone connected to your computer and using iTunes on your computer to restore the iPhone.
It is often more than 40% when previously it was less than 5%. Have tried all the things you suggested
You may need to Restore it as a new iPhone (not from backup) and test it for 24 hours and see what happens to the battery. Also, do you have a work email account on this iPhone?
