It sounds to me like you have moved the library to a new computer, but for some reason iTunes is unable to play the content. It could be possible that iTunes is pointed to the library on the original computer, so to check that use this article to select the local library on your computer:
Open a different iTunes Library file or create a new one
If that is not the case, there is always the option to locate that file when iTunes prompts you, and you should get a prompt asking if you want iTunes to do the same for other media it cannot find. If that does not fix the issue, then I would next recommend deleting the copied library and following the steps in the following article.

With enough poking around I found the iTunes (library) file included in all the music files (which are repeated within the iTunes file). When I directed iTunes to that file in the iTunes Media Folder location window (edit/preferences/advanced), it finds the music and all is good again.
