I have an old XP machine that keeps crashing, how can I retrieve my music and sync to my iPad

Over 5000 songs on iTunes on my PC. Machine is old XP home version 32 bit. Machine crashes every time I put iTunes on. I can't even upgrade to the latest XP supported version. How doI retrieve my music to a new iPad.

What iOS do you have on the iPad? If you have another computer, I would copy everything in the My Music folder, especially the iTunes folder, and transfer it to another computer. The iTunes version you need for the later versions of iTunes is 12.1.3. If you cannot install that, then you are out of luck. If you already have iOS 9.x on your iPad, then you need a newer version of iTunes than Windows XP can support.
