Q: turn off face recognition in iOS 10 photos?

I HATE what's been done to the Photos app in iOS 10.  I've got a ten year old personal system of creating folders and sorting my photos into them and don't want some geek putting his system in front of mine. You just can't automate my own folder choices.

Is there some way to turn  off face recognition? and Places? Is there some way to delete all those stupid folders in albums? I'm looking to clean up the app and remove:  people, places, selfies, panoramas, slo-mo from my iPhone.

If that isn't possible, my second choice would be to at least move them to the very end of the scroll line - after all of my own created folders.

thanks

tom

It’s amazing, but they didn’t give us a way to opt-out of the image analysis and the only way to avoid it is to move your photos off of the IOS device.  I have mine auto-uploading to Microsoft’s cloud, which then auto-downloads them to my computer.  I delete them off of IOS as soon as possible.  I’m sure Apple was hoping I would wake each morning to a happy little memory, but I open my phone each morning and delete everything

Thanks. That's the conclusion I've come to.

I want the photos on my camera. I already move the files to dropbox and then after editing and sorting, I sync them back to the iPhone. What's the use of the iPhone if you can't show off your photos on it???

But I hate the stupid folders that apple has forced on me and won't let me move from the first viewed when you open photos...LAME...SHAME ON YOU, APPLE - this is more like Microsoft Bob than Apple !!!

Reminds me of Microsoft's insistence in forcing the whole "libraries" thing and dedicated folders for music, photos and video.  When you have a decades-old file management technique that works for you, there's nothing more frustrating than an OS that attempts to force you to use its technique.

The other issue is face recognition.  Am I the only one that finds that creepy?  Facebook seems to have made that popular, but it's yet another technological "advancement" that I find completely objectionable, with no vendors out there who seem to have any inkling as to how personally invasive it is.

i think its invasive, its one thing to scan a photo that is voluntarily uploaded to a site like facebook but to have any photo you take automatically scanned is not cool.  as well it would be nice to be able to organize the list to what you need and the option for a list view or a tile view in the albums list
