How to delete video I imported onto my iPod Touch 5th Generation from my PC

Hello! Not to long ago I decided to import a video onto my iPod Touch 5th Generation so I could edit it on iMovie (I don't have a Mac). After finishing what I intended to do I exported the video from my iPod, back to my computer. While that was going on I noticed that I went from having 16GB free on my iPod, to 5GB. Now I believe this happened after I imported the video from my computer to my iPod, because the section with Documents and Data has used 14GB. Now I deleted the movie I made after I put it back on my computer but that didn't change anything. So what you all must be thinking is, delete the original video you imported onto the iPod right? Well, when I click on the video in the album it saved in called, Videos imported by My Computer, there is no delete button. Only a button to send it to someone. So my next guess would be to delete the album itself but when I go edit under albums, I can delete every single one except this one. So I don't know what to do next. I don't think resetting my iPod and restoring from backup will work because my backup still has the video on there. Anyone have an idea?

Thank you for reading!

Howdy Andrew,

It sounds like you need to remove some videos that you synced from your computer to your iPod Touch. You must use iTunes to unsync the video from your device.

1. Connect the iPod Touch to the computer

2. Click the iPod icon at the top of the screen

3. Click Videos in the sidebar

4. Uncheck the video(s) you no longer want on the device

5. Click Sync or Apply in the lower right corner

This should remove the content from the iPod and free up that much needed space. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities, let us know if you need anything else.

iTunes said that the photos and videos that were synced were removed and that my free storage is back at 15GB but iTunes also says that there is 14GB of Documents and Data which wouldn't make sense because even thought my iPod is 32GB, there really is only about 28GB of storage and those 2 numbers combined go over 28GB, not including apps and photos. Plus the videos are still on my iPod and the storage left on my iPod, according to the iPod itself, is now 8GB.

Alright looks like we need to go a bit deeper here. First quit the Settings and Photos apps on your phone:

Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Then restart your phone and your computer. When it comes back on, uncheck the box to enable photo syncing in the Photos tab of iTunes when you have the phone connected. Apply that and verify that all the synced photos and videos are gone.

Once you've confirmed things appear to be OK, sync your photos back and that should get you set straight.
