If you still have OSX 10.5.8 the only way to udate Safari is to upgrade OSX
The 2006-2007 Mac Pros can only go as high as Lion without a hack. The version of Safari in Lion is not being updated anymore and has security flaws and will not work with many sites. Both the Chrome and FireFox browsers are no longer being updated for Mountain Lion and earlier.
The 2008 and later can go to El Capitan
