How to view the previously played songs in iOS 10?

Prior to the iOS 10 update not only could you view the tracks coming "up next" but you could also look back in time at tracks played previously to the currently playing track. Has anyone figured out how to do that yet with this new update?

This is completely not useful, as we used to be able to click on the menu option next to the song and LOVE it or "add to next" or "add to playlist." I used this feature when I'd listen to Apple playlists and like songs, but I do not want to mess with my phone while driving. Once I got home later that night I could always go back, and add it to my library or playlists. Losing this feature is AWFUL. The "message" app shortcut has no functionality to let you do anything but view what the sings recently played were. You can't long press it and save it or LOVE it.

Boo, Apple. Big BOO. And you still need to add where the playlists are smart (like Spotify) and they ask if you want to add a duplicate song. There is no way on Apple Music to go find duplicates in your library or playlists. So sad.

I agree, it is not a great solution, but at least it is some way to see what songs you've previously played.

I have no idea for sure, but I suspect the reality is: the Apple Music revamp had a hard deadline of the ios10 release date and not all the functionality could be included to make that release date.

I'm sure it will all be coming in later releases. It ***** for now, no doubt, but it is what it is.

While it seems that way, I suspect it is not so much a case of stuff being stripped out as it is there was not time to add all the previous functionality into what is essentially a brand new app. I could be completely wrong here, I wouldn't be surprised at all if this was the case.

I agree some to the text does seem a little large. I was very put off by it initially, doesn't bother me much anymore. I have noticed that from time to time the playlist will just stop playing at the end of a song. Has probably happened to me 2 or 3 times.

I totally agree, bajancanuck;

it seems like those crippling changes can only be decided by non users or careless decision makers who obviously don't spend hours enjoying (and/or suffering) music on the app;

to them I say (respectfully) eat your own dog food; if you do, you'll see how dumb it is to take away those "recently played" songs from the the main menu; ask yourself: what do users win with that decision? can't you see it's one of the BIGGEST advantages you had over spotify?

Apple is not reading here. If you want them to know your opinions, use the feedback link:
