    Hi there, stephaniefromsurrey,

I use Night Shift on my iPhone every night. I see that yours has stopped working after you upgraded your iPhone 6 to iOS 10. I'll be more than glad to help you get it working again.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- Never underestimate the power of a good restart. The forced restart also mentioned in that article won't apply to your situation though.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch -- The next step to try shouldn't do anything but restore your iPhone settings back to their default settings. However, it's always better to "have" a backup than to "need" a backup.

Reset iPhone settings -- Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings to return the settings back to default. Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Night Shift. Adjust the settings to enable Night Shift again and test. If that hasn't fixed it, continue on.

If you didn't back up your iPhone before, now would be an excellent time as the next step is meant to erase your iPhone completely. I want to be sure your personal information is safe.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings -- You'll need to use iTunes on a Mac or PC to completely erase your phone. Using your iPhone's settings only removes your personal information.

The first time through, select "Set up as a new iPhone" and skip signing into iTunes & App Store and iCloud this time around. Test Night Shift again. If all is working as it should now, continue onto the next step.

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup -- Follow these instructions to place all of your personal information back on your phone.

i had this issue too. i remedied it in the following manner.

    • disable night shift
    • disable automatic set my time
    • update my time zone
    • enable automatic set my time
    • enable night shift

That was enough to convince my iphone that 8:13 PM CST was when night shift should be on.

hope this works for you too!

    Josh Peter's advice works.

Had the same problem with my brand new iphone 7+.

I had to restart after all the steps to make it work though
