This is very unusual. Two thoughts come to mind.

Is your storage too full? Check Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage (under Storage). Be certain you have at least 10% (hopefully more than 15%) of your iPhone's total storage free.
Use iTunes (you must use the current version - 12.5.1, as it is the only version supporting iOS 10) to upgrade. See "Update your device using iTunes" here: Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Turns out I just had to switch off low power mode! Thanks for your reply anyway!
