Q: Instagram Zoom doesn't work on my iPhone

Two weeks ago Instagram updated to zoom.

I have the latest updates in IOS and Instagram, but I cannot zoom into pictures.

It's a great, new feature, and today my makeup artist showed me the feature on his iPhone 5 (or was it a 4, it was tiny)

For his older iPhone is was working, but I can't zoom in my 6 plus.

Why? What's wrong with my iPhone 6 Plus that this feature isn't working?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.3.5, 64 Gb

    Hi,

I had the same issue before on my iPhone 6S, only you need to do the following:

Hard reset your iPhone then try the zoom feature if still not working uninstall the Instagram then reinstall it after its installed do the hard reset again then try the zoom feature.

    Hopefully it will work .

    Thanks.

But doesn't a hard reset delete all the data on the iPhone?

No, it will not delete anything from your iPhone.

The hard reset is to press the power key and the home button at the same time and keep pressing them till the iPhone restart and the Apple logo appears on the screen then release your fingers .

    Thanks.

There are two different versions of hard resets ghosting through the internet.

One is the two button version you told me, and one is the complete reset through the iPhone menu, here's the Gizmodo link:

    http://www.ubergizmo.com/how-to/how-to-reset-the-iphone/

They call the two-button reset a "soft reset". But it looks like they are wrong. Looks like they erroneously call a complete wipe a reset.

The hard resets didn't work for me. I'm having the same issue. No zoom.

iPhone 6s.  Same problem here...I'm glad I'm not the only one.  Everyone I show the issue to is like, "huh...that's weird, it works on mine..."  Wasn't working on iOS 9.3.5.  Just updated to iOS 10 with Instgram v 9.3.  Wouldn't zoom.  Tried deleting the app, reinstalling and performing a hard reset.  Didn't work.  Tried signing in through Facebook and through user name.  Neither worked.  Removed the screen protector to see if that was the issue and still didn't work.  Can't find any relevant threads on a google search or instagram help.  Any further ideas?  Any settings on the phone that I can report to help shed some light on the issue?

    What phone are you on?

Could it be that this affects newer phones only?

That phone where I saw it working was an old phone. That's the only hint I have.

But there are other bugs showing up on Instagram. In photo credits, when I click on someone's @name , then in half the cases the page that opens has no images. Only the top bar with follower counts and follow button, but the image area is white.

    With others it works.

I suspect they added  A LOT of bugs in the most recent update.

I have an iPhone 5s with latest iOS 10.0.2 and Instagram version 9.3.

I Deleted the app and re installed and inatagram zoom feature  worked for about 5 seconds until I switched to use another app. I closed the app and re opened and it no longer worked.

I Deleted again and re installed and the same thing happened where it worked until I used another app.
